Smylies Team Climbs Mount Snowdon in Memory of Beloved Colleague

On the 21st of May 2022, twenty five members of the Smylies team took on the challenge of climbing the famous Welsh peak, Mount Snowdon.

Making the Most of Mount Snowdon

Plenty of people flock to the UK’s most biodiverse national park, with approximately 350,000 people climbing Mount Snowdon each year.

The strenuous and scenic hike was undertaken by the team in memory of our dear colleague, Kasia, who passed away in January earlier this year. As Kasia was a hiking enthusiast herself, the Smylies family felt that there was no better way to honour her memory and life than by doing an event such as this.

Although the weather certainly did its best to put the Smylies team off at times, with gloomy clouds rested on the peaks of Mount Snowdon, the Smylies team persisted to battle their way to the top.

Throughout the challenging yet rewarding hike, the team shared plenty of laughs and memories, with 23 out of 25 reaching the Mount Snowdon summit. The team wasn’t short of motivation as two furry canine friends kept them going whilst the hours ticked by.

Our Managing Director, Chris Smylie commented: “Kasia was an incredibly valued member of the Smylies team and I can’t think of a more fitting way for us to have commemorated her memory.”
